This 3500 square foot apartment graces the last grand courtyard building still standing on Park Avenue. Landmarked gothic stonework decorates the Park Avenue and side street facades as well as the treasured inner courtyard. Unchanged since the 1920s a unique challenge was updating the apartment into the 21st century while respecting the building’s revered appearance. A total overhaul resulted in clearing a cluster of maid’s rooms to give the new kitchen a central location that easily serves the various entertaining rooms.

A monumental entrance hall separates the public and private zones while framing an expansive sensation through the center of the apartment into the darkly glamorous library beyond. Interior decoration by MMR Interiors of New Orleans.
